Josiah Edwards is one to watch on the green, having won the junior 2023 Golf Australia Order of Merit.

What’s your greatest ambition?

My greatest ambition in life is to make the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) tour and become a successful professional golfer.

What was your happiest moment?

My happiest moment was when I won my first international tournament, winning the Saujana 100-Plus Junior Championship.

How and when did you start in golf?

I started golf when I was two-years-old watching my dad play golf. I made my first swing when I started to walk and have played it ever since.

How much time do you spend practising?

I practice every day about three hours when in the school week, but when there’s no school almost the whole day. Even if it’s not at the golf course it will be at home or in my room.

Of what are you most proud?

I am most proud of being dedicated to golf and also having a good balance between school, golf, gym and free time.

What is the biggest risk you have ever taken?

My biggest risk is committing 100 per cent into golf but it will all be worth it soon.

What has been the biggest hurdle in getting this far in golf?

All the pressure that I get, but also trying to get myself mentally prepared for every tournament.

What would you say to encourage other young people to achieve their goals?

I would say dream big and never stop chasing and eventually you’ll achieve what your dream was.

If you could be another person, who would it be and why?

I would like to be Tiger Woods because I would like to know how he thinks, and how it feels to dominate on the golf course and live a luxury lifestyle.

What would you never do again?

Play sports while injured because that will only make things worse.

Name something a coach has taught you that you’ve never forgotten.

Stay patient – never rush for success.

What talent do you wish you had?

I would like to have the talent to speak every language.

What is your dream holiday destination?

My dream holiday destination would be Japan – having a lot of shopping and the best food.

What is your greatest achievement outside golf?

Holding the under 15 high jump record in athletics, jumping 2.00 metres.

What three things are most precious to you?

Shoe collection, phone, golf clubs.

What’s your favourite . . . ?

Music artist: Drake.

Item of clothing: BANX oversized t-shirt.

Food: Chicken.

TV show: Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Smell: My cologne.
