House That! Noranda crosses the $2 million barrier for the first time with record-breaking sale price

Fresh on the heels of a record property price in Morley, a home has this week settled in neighbouring Noranda for a suburb peak of $2.6 million. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom, three-kitchen home, which sits on 717sqm of land, beats the previous record of $1.72m, set back in the mining boom days of 2008. It’s also three times the value of the suburb’s median price of $882,000. Interestingly, both the record breaking $3.9m home sold in Morley last month as well as the Noranda winner were sold by the same agent — Gia Huynh of Peard. Huynh said Noranda has been widely undervalued by property buyers — apart from some astute investors. “Noranda has great amenities, it’s a family-orientated suburb and the local people here are nice, decent people,” said Huynh who also lives in the suburb. The opulent double-storey home has 568sqm of living space. Inspired by a resort, it’s set up for the good life, complete with a bar fridge in the bathroom, beside the marble bathtub and below the double hand-carved vanities. A gourmet kitchen with granite countertops on the first level is complemented by a built-in outdoor kitchen overlooking the pool and a second-floor kitchenette. The home’s grand, sweeping staircase winds up to a the second floor, which hosts a gym, a home theatre with elevated seating, a games room and a large private balcony. Noranda values have jumped 24 per cent over the past year.
