2025 Skoda Enyaq: Electric SUV gets greater range, fresh looks

The Skoda Enyaq has received an extended driving range as part of a mid-life facelift overseas, only a handful of weeks after first deliveries of the pre-updated electric SUV began in Australia.

Skoda has treated both the traditional wagon-shape Enyaq and the sloped-back Enyaq Coupe – the only body style we receive in Australia – to its new ‘Modern Solid’ design language, which debuted on the smaller Skoda Elroq electric vehicle (EV).

A local company executive said the updated Skoda Enyaq is due in Australia in the third quarter of 2025 (July to September). Local specifications are yet to be be confirmed.

The Enyaq’s adoption of Skoda’s new design language has resulted in a major change to its front-end design, which now features a much slimmer dark chrome grille, four LED headlight graphics at each corner (and matrix LEDs for flagship versions), and a revised lower apron.

Gone too is the circular winged arrow logo, with bold S-K-O-D-A lettering in its place on the bonnet.

More subtle changes have been made at the rear, where redesigned five-segment tail-lights sit on either side of a dark chrome Skoda badge.

While there’s no mechanical upgrades under the skin, the new looks have resulted in a drop in drag coefficient (from 0.264Cd to 0.245Cd for the Enyaq, and from 0.234Cd to 0.225Cd for the Enyaq Coupe), which has led to greater driving range.

The Australian-delivered Enyaq Coupe is sold exclusively with a 77kWh battery, and has a claimed driving range of 561km on the WLTP test cycle in Sportline guise.

An equivalent version of the facelifted Enyaq will now be able to travel up to 597km on a single charge, an improvement of 6.4 per cent.

That’s more than the base Tesla Model Y, which has a claimed range of 455km.

The updated Enyaq continues to produce 210kW and 545Nm in rear-wheel drive guise, though Skoda hasn’t yet revealed an updated version of the all-wheel drive Enyaq Coupe RS flagship sold in Australia.

Further changes have been made in the cabin, with overseas examples of the Enyaq being available with six interior combinations.

Australian examples have only been available in Sportline and RS guise, with the former retaining its black faux leather and Suedia upholstery with grey stitching.

A number of features which have been available to Australian buyers – such as a heated steering wheel and front seats – are now standard-fit globally.

There’s no change to the rear storage space (remaining at 585L with the rear seats up, and 1710L when they’re folded for the SUV, and 570L/1610L for the Coupe), however, a QR code is now placed below the retractable blind, allowing users to access information on how to best back their luggage.

It’s not yet known whether there will be any change to the Enyaq’s pricing in Australia. Currently, the Enyaq Coupe Sportline starts from $69,990 before on-road costs, while the RS is priced from $83,990 before on-road costs.
