Porsche 911, 718 and Panamera recalled, owners told to stop driving
Porsche Cars Australia has recalled 199 examples of certain 911, 718 (Boxster/Cayman) and Panamera variants, telling owners to not drive their vehicles until a wheel nut fault is resolved.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the road wheel centre lock nuts may be defective. A defect could cause the lock nut to fracture and result in loosening of the wheel,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.
“Loosening of the wheel can result in a loss of the wheel and a loss of control over the vehicle. This can increase the risk of accidents, damage, injury or death to vehicle occupants and road users.”
