Albany-born comedian Amy Hetherington is about to embark on a 50-show tour of regional Australia — here are the WA towns she is most excited to visit.

Ahhhh look it’s like you’re asking me to choose my favourite child . . . but seeing as I’m a one-and-done mum, I’m not scared to say who I like the most.

Here’s the top five places in WA I’m excited to do shows in.

If your town didn’t make this list, please message me on social media to fight for your town’s rights on the listicle (@amyhetherington).

Kalgoorlie

Kal’s been voted the s...est town in Australia before but the thing I love about the big hole town is that instead of sulking like a snobby Sydneysider, they’ve embraced it.

They’ve got the world’s biggest bin and a tourism promotion for their skimpies.

It’s proper Aussie to just own something and it just goes to show Kalgoorliens have a great sense of humour.

Perfect for comedy.

Geraldton

Last time I was in dero Gero my hair got blown around so much I looked like I walked out of an 80s music video.

I love this town.

I especially like that their Point Moore Lighthouse has a one-star review on Google because someone from Rockingham “couldn’t find it”.

Geraldton is almost the northern suburbs these days anyway, so it’ll be an easy one to get to after Fringe World in Perth.

Albany

This is my hometown. It’s the best place in Western Australia and I’m happy to fight people in the Dog Rock carpark about it.

Bunbury

Bunvegas cops a lot of negative feedback, but I reckon it’s the least pretentious place in WA.

Bunbury doesn’t have a wine region, or food trail, or sophisticated claim to fame.

It’s practical, it’s useful and it’s filled with no-nonsense people that like to complain about their local council.

Also, if you Google search “Bunbury review” it comes up with “Bunbury, Western Australia is a coastal city that some say is a beautiful place to live, work and visit”.

That’s proper humble.

Narrogin

I haven’t done comedy in Narrogin before and I am so excited.

I’m there for Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day in Narrogin . . . that’s romantic AF.

They’ve got a Chicken Treat! I’m so excited for that one.

Love you, WA, can’t wait to see you soon.
