Bizarre bodycam captures moment cops pull hiding teens accused of property, stolen car crime spree from cupboards

Wild footage has captured the moment several teenagers, who are now facing charges over multiple alleged property and stolen vehicle offences, were found hiding in cupboards by police. Queensland Police have charged four teenagers with a raft of offences, alleging they committed a series of property crime offences across Brisbane between December 29 last year and January 15. It is further alleged offences occurred across multiple suburbs including Hamilton, Wilston, Wavell Heights, Newmarket, Balmoral, Morningside, Bridgeman Downs, Ashgrove, Tingalpa, Bardon, Thornlands, Springfield, Auchenflower, Belmont, Woolloongabba and Hawthorne. Boondall Tactical Crime Squad and Hendra Criminal Investigation Branch attended a Tingalpa address on January 15, locating an alleged stolen car and arresting the four teens. Some were allegedly found hiding in cupboards around the house. In police bodycam footage, one officer can be heard saying: “Hey mate how are you? Hop on down”. The teenager, who appears to be crammed in the top space of a double-door cupboard, obliges and is handcuffed. A similar interaction unfolds in a second room where another teen is allegedly found hiding in the top part of the cupboard. One is seen in the footage being escorted to a waiting car. In a statement, Queensland Police said a Sunnybank Hills boy, 17, has been charged with five counts of unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, four counts of attempted enter with intent, three counts of enter and commit, two counts of stealing a vehicle and one count each of enter with intent, fraud, enter with intent armed and in company, attempted enter dwelling with intent, attempted enter premise, attempted enter dwelling with intent in company and obstruct police. A Redbank Plains boy, 15, has been charged with five counts of unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, three counts each of stealing and attempted enter dwelling with intent, two counts of trespass and one count each of attempted enter with intent, enter with intent while armed in company, attempted enter premise and attempted enter dwelling with intent in company. A Crestmead boy, 17, has been charged with three counts each of attempted enter premise with intent and unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, as well as two counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent. A 16-year-old South Ripley boy has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling and commit and unauthorised use of a motor vehicle. All four teens first fronted Brisbane Childrens Court on January 16.
