Greenwood man set to face court after alleged domestic violence knife attack which injured stepfather

A Greenwood man will front court on Wednesday after an alleged domestic violence knife attack which left a father clinging to his life in hospital. A 28-year-old man will face charges of grievous bodily harm at Joondalup Magistrates Court after a fight with a man in his 60s, believed to be his stepfather. Police were called to reports of a serious disturbance at a home on Cedarwood Circle in Greenwood about 10.30pm on Monday before the man was found seriously injured. The injured man was taken to hospital and was in a serious but stable condition on Wednesday morning. WA Police commissioner Col Blanch described the incident as a “family domestic violence matter”. “We think they are very serious injuries, edged weapon injuries, particularly one to his hand and his head,” he said on Tuesday. “There may be other injuries at this stage, but more will be known later.” The home was taped off on Tuesday as detectives investigated the circumstances of the attack.
