Brunswick Agricultural Society prepares for biggest day of the year as Brunswick Show returns on October 22

The South West’s biggest agricultural show is set to return for another year, with community volunteers due to take centre stage. The 2022 Brunswick Show is set to hit the Brunswick Recreation Ground on October 22 as tickets go on sale to the general public. The theme of this year’s show will be Celebrating Rural Emergency Services, with demonstrations and displays from nine emergency service organisations set to make up part of this year’s event. The biggest drawcard with the emergency services will be with the RAC Rescue Helicopter, with the organisation set to have a virtual reality experience set up on the day. Alongside exhibits from this year’s theme, there will be the traditional working agricultural and transport displays, including cattle judging, sheep herding and milking demonstrations. Clarabelle the Cow will return to this year’s event, having been auctioned off to MGM Bulk for $6500, repainted and driven around Western Australia, raising more than $80,000 for Solaris Cancer Care. For those with families, the fun of the traditional sideshow alley and Lions animal nursery will be present at this year’s event. The popular fireworks display will also return for another year, with live music and entertainment throughout the day. Brunswick Agricultural Society president Julianne Hall said she hoped people would make the most of the special day out. “This iconic one day show gives the community a chance to come and experience agriculture,” she said. “This year is extra special because we get the chance to see up close all the emergency services that are available in our community.” The 2022 event is special for another reason, marking the 90th anniversary of the first Brunswick Show held in 1932.
