Farmers invited to take part in soil testing program

Dairy and beef farmers are invited to submit expressions of interest with the Leschenault Catchment Catchment Council for the 2017/18 soil testing sampling season.

The program tests and maps nutrients levels on farmer’s property and is aimed at helping them to make an informed decision about fertiliser use and thereby reduce nutrient run-off into waterways.

A one day workshops also forms part of the program with the opportunity to discuss results with other participants and free independent agronomic advice from a panel of agronomists on how to best use the data.

Priority will be given to farmers who haven’t been involved in similar programs.
