Brunswick Bowling Club members are opening their doors and their bowling greens to Bunbury’s Moorabinda Croquet Club next week for a coaching and interest session for the sport.

Anyone who has ever wanted to have a go will have a chance to learn the rules and techniques, plus get a few handy hints from some seasoned players.

Club member John Exton encouraged all community members to take the opportunity to try something new.

“This is not just for bowling club members to try out croquet, but for people who are not necessarily playing any sport at the moment to get into a sport,” Mr Exton said.

Moorabinda Croquet Club member Rob Bowling said the low impact sport was ideal for people who had trouble bending low enough for bowls due to injury.

“It’s a great way to keep people involved in sport and in the club,” he said.

The croquet interest afternoon will be held on Friday, February 8, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
