The Harvey Bulls have announced their new netball coach to try take the club’s first A-grade team to the top of the league.

Jodie Testrow will be leading the Bulls in competition next year, with the former netball player excited to be taking the reins for the South West club.

Testrow has more than 40 years of netball expertise under her belt and is excited to be back in Harvey.

“I have played a lot of netball in the region and I have coached for other clubs,” she said.

“This is my sport and my love.”

Her love for the game follows in the legacy of her mother Dawn Testrow — the namesake of South West netball’s highest honour, the Testrow Medal.

“We as a family have always been involved in this competition across the board,” Testrow said.

“And now it’s my turn to hopefully give back as a league coach and I’m very excited about that at Harvey.

“The thing I like about Harvey is the sense of club ... and then obviously, if you have a sense of community, friendship and team, that’s what brings success.”

This will also be the first time Harvey has an A-grade team.

“This is an opportunity for me to come in and develop young players,” Testrow said.

The club will host tryouts on November 17 at 10am at the Harvey Recreation Centre.
