Harvey’s 2025 Harvest Festival is set to be the biggest on record as the festival expands to take place over three days after returning from a year-long hiatus.

Harvey Main Street announced in June the festival would be making its comeback after being abruptly cancelled last year.

Set to run from Friday, March 7, to Sunday, March 9, next year, the event is expected to be packed with crowd favourites making their return — as well as new events.

The centre of the show will remain at Harvey’s Snell Park, as it has in years prior, but will also extend to have events at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and beyond.

The event will start with a local heroes concert at the HRCC followed by a long table lunch at local wineries and a concert from the South West Opera Company on Saturday.

Sunday will see the bulk of events taking place, including the WA State Grape Stomping Event — always a highlight of the festival.

Harvey Main Street chair Joe Capogreco said with 15,000 people recorded coming to the event in previous years, the committee wanted put on a longer show to keep them in Harvey.

“By filling out this bigger program, we’re hoping to get people to think ‘I might come down for the weekend and do a few things around Harvey’,” he said.

“We’re really hoping this event lets us attract visitors we normally wouldn’t attract.”

The push to a three-day event has the committee hoping to work with local tourism operators such as the Harvey Aboriginal Corporation.

The event is being supported by the Shire of Harvey, local businesses and industries. It has also received funding through Tourism WA’s Regional Event Schemes.

The committee is also gearing up to open registrations for stall holders at the event, with applications opening on October 1.

Mr Capogreco said he was happy to see the event returning and excited to showcase the best of what the Harvey region has to offer.

“The community was really devastated when it couldn’t be held last year,” he said.

“So it is really good to have this coming back.”
