The creative talents of the Harvey Shire community were on show late last month as a biennial art event returned.

The Harvey Art Prize exhibition was held at the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre during the King’s Birthday long weekend, with an official opening and awards night on September 22.

More than 100 pieces were entered into this year’s competition, with 10 prizes on offer.

This year’s theme was “connection”, with the art judged by a panel consisting of representatives of the Shire of Harvey and prize sponsors.

Kay Jones won the main Harvey Water Harvey Art Prize for her work Welcome In Lady In Rags.
