Performer to lift veil on magic’s tricks
Fresh off a stint in Europe, and after sold-out shows at Fringe World in 2016, 2017 and 2018, mystery performer Pierre Ulric will bring a little magic to Harvey next month.
Mr Ulric will perform Confessions of a Magician at the Harvey Recreational and Cultural Centre on July 5, in what is billed to be a “spellbinding” hour-long act.
“I wanted to produce a show that was not your standard linear exhibition of magic tricks,” Mr Ulric said.
“Through a number of theatrical vignettes, I open the door on what it means to be a professional magician in this modern day era, what there is to love and hate about it, in doing so lifting the curtain a bit on this ancient craft.
“Spectators will learn more about the strange and at times hilarious world of magic and illusion.” The show, which won Best Magic Weekly Award at Adelaide Fringe Festival last year, uses magic, audience participation, psychological ploys, music and comedy to share some of Mr Ulric’s deepest and absurd revelations about life as a magician.
“Magicians have always been hidden secrets,” he said.
“It’s time for this one to confess.”
