Police seeking information following serious crash on South Western Highway in Cookernup

South West police are asking for information about a serious crash just north of Harvey on Wednesday.

About 9.25am on Wednesday, a 77-year-old male was riding a white Honda motorcycle northbound on South Western Highway in Cookernup when it crashed into a metal barrier.

The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and has suffered critical injuries.

Members of the public stopped and provided first aid to the man before St John WA arrived, who took him to Harvey Hospital.

He has since been airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital.
