A WA radio icon found himself in Harvey last week while touring the State’s regional towns, setting up shop at a local hotspot for The Drive Home show.

The Wokalup Tavern and Brugan Brewery played host to Triple M’s Cliff Reeve who has been on the road for the past few weeks.

He previously visited Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Esperance, and was now hitting the South West to check out all the region has to offer.

Reeve said few places compared to the South West — “only a hair’s width away from being perfection,” he said.

“We’ve been around Collie and Dardanup, today (Thursday) we’re in Wokalup and Harvey Cheese — just seeing the places and meeting the people,” he told the Reporter.

“Since our show is Statewide, it’s really nice to be able to focus on an area and put a focus on the various places.”

Reeve said he was particularity happy to be back in community-minded Harvey.

“Everyone looks after each other here, and there’s a community within a community,” he said.

“While they’re not big places, the people make it much bigger than the parts that make it up.

“It’s a lovely area full of lovely people — really, really, really nice people.”

Reeve said he didn’t know where the show would end up next, but said he was excited to be back in the area later this month for the Brunswick Show.

“It’ll be great to catch up with all these people who I sometimes only get to see once a year,” he said.

“I love it and I am really looking forward to the Brunswick Show.”

Brugan’s venue manager Charlotte Collins said it was great for the local tavern to host the station, adding to the glow of success since its Catering Institute of Australia Gold Plate Awards finalist status.
