WA College of Agriculture - Harvey’s class of 2023 says farewell as 2024 scholarship recipients announced
The WA College of Agriculture - Harvey’s class of 2023 has said farewell as next year’s scholarship recipients were announced.
A graduation ceremony was held on school grounds on November 3, with 500 guests and dignitaries attending to farewell students at the end of their education journey.
This year’s guest speaker was Wedderburn Transport owner-operator Mark Talbot.
Mr Talbot is no stranger to the school, having studied at the college between 1981 and 1982.
About 50 students have graduated in this year’s cohort of Year 12 students, but there were only a few who were the cream of the crop.
The highest achieving extension student award went to Montana Holly, while Georgia Buchanan received the highest achieving general student accolade alongside best in general class.
The best in extension class went to Thomas Beales, with the best in trades going to Xander Camarri.
Rachel Smith and Sarah Kett tied in the best on farm category.
It was not just the graduating class being honoured, with 14 scholarships being awarded to Year 10 and 11 students alongside class awards.
A college spokesperson said it was appreciative of the scholarship donors.
Talesha James was announced as the 2024 school captain.
