Incredible moment hero tradies rescue woman from blaze in Adelaide
Hero tradies have rescued an elderly woman from a burning home after they saw the large blaze while on their lunch break.
The Harold Street home in Seaton in Adelaide’s northwest erupted into flames on Tuesday, with emergency services called to the scene about 12.15pm.
Solar installer Mike Ajami was driving past on his lunch break with a colleague when he saw the fire and jumped over the fence to rescue an elderly woman.
The 70-year-old woman was in the backyard but had reportedly been asleep when the fire broke out.
Mr Ajami and his friend could be heard shouting at the woman to leave in video footage.
“Get out! Rob, push her, push her,” the pair can be heard yelling.
“There’s a lady there, she’s trying to get the fire out. Holy f*** bro.”
Thick plumes of smoke billowed out from the house fire.
The two tradies managed to rescue the woman and lift her over the fence.
She was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Mr Ajami told 9NEWS bystanders had said there was a woman in the backyard.
“Everyone was yelling, there was a lady at the back... no one was going to go and get her,” Mr Ajami said.
“So me and my mate jumped the fence.”
The pair have been hailed heroes following the dramatic rescue.
“They’re heroes, they really are because she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them,” one neighbour said, according to the Daily Mail.
A South Australia Police spokesperson said the house was “extensively damaged” in the fire, while the circumstances surrounding the blaze — and the cause — are set to be investigated.
Anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
