Perth’s newest millionaire found out he had won Lotto over coffee with a friend, becoming WA’s 42nd division one winner.

The Kewdale man in his 60s, who bought the ticket from Here’s Luck Lottery Centre in Cloverdale, won more than $2.5 million in last Saturday’s draw.

“I checked the ticket about 300 times to make sure the numbers didn’t change,” the ticket holder said.

“Now I know it’s not a joke or a dream.”

Sitting down for his Sunday morning coffee, the man checked his ticket, realising a line had all six winning numbers.

The man said the win was still sinking in, but had plans of chasing the sun and spending his winter overseas, in between continuing to work.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Emma Rogers said the Saturday Lotto win brings the tally of WA Division One winners for 2023 to 42.

“This year, more than $130 million in Division One prizes has been won be West Aussies, with this week offering up another $130 million to be won, thanks to Powerball and Saturday Lotto,” she said.

Powerball has hit $100 million for this Thursday’s draw, followed by Saturday Lotto’s $30 million Megadraw.

Tickets are available in-store, online and via the app before 6pm day of draw.
