Saturday Lotto: West Australian wins biggest lotto prize in draw so far this year

A lucky WA Lotto player turned their ticket into $3.3 million when they scooped up a division one prize on Saturday.

The WA player purchased the golden ticket from Forest Lakes Newsagency in Thornlie — most likely not expecting that purchase to make them an instant multi-millionaire.

The huge win is the largest prize a WA player has won in a Saturday draw so far this year.

West Aussie wins continued into division two with 13 players taking home around $11,500 each.

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said WA has been on a roll the past week.

“They say good things come in threes, which I’m sure the owner of this $3.3 million ticket will agree with,” he said.

“It would be great to see this win turn into a trio of wins for WA following Tuesday’s $15 million OZ Lotto draw and Thursday’s $30 million Powerball draw.”

The winning numbers in draw #4549 were 2, 5, 26, 28, 31, 39 and supplementary numbers were 7, 8.

A whopping 186 WA tickets managed to also score more than $1100 each in division three.
