Police have located the body of a man following a search for a missing diver off the Gascoyne coast.

WA Police divers were deployed to Red Bluff at Quobba Station following reports a man, aged in his 30s, failed to resurface on Tuesday afternoon while fishing and diving 800m off the coast with two friends.

A body was located by police around 11.40am on Thursday, a police spokesman confirmed.

“The body is believed to be the male diver – aged in his 30s.”

“The death is being treated as non suspicious and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.”

Marine rescue volunteers from Carnarvon ventured to the beach on Wednesday to assist with search efforts.

Police deployed a drone at the scene — which is a popular location for fishing, surfing and camping.

Red Bluff is in the southern part of the Ningaloo Marine Park, around 970 km north of Perth.
