Feeney chasing Adelaide double after claiming pole

Broc Feeney is in pole position to claim an impressive Adelaide 500 double after bossing the top-10 shootout on the last day of the Supercars season.

The Triple Eight speedster topped Sunday's session with a blistering lap of 1:19.972.

Feeney looks set to continue his love affair with the Adelaide street circuit, having claimed second race win at the track - his seventh win of the season - by 12 seconds on Saturday.

"Absolutely love this place," he said.

"So much fun, I'm absolutely having a ball this weekend. Obviously, the eyes were set on trying to win both races and we'll have another crack this afternoon."

It was Feeney's fifth pole of the season, second only to Tickford's Cam Waters on six.

Chaz Mostert was 0.153s off the pace in second, making his return to the front row after he was forced to start towards the back of the grid in Saturday's race.

The Walkinshaw Andretti United man missed out on setting a time during qualifying on Saturday after a red flag cut the session short following a trio of crashes by Richie Stanaway, Cam Hill and David Reynolds.

Newly-minted series champion Will Brown will start in fourth, one day after sealing the title with a second-placed finish behind teammate Feeney.

"Disappointed to lose the position but just stuffed up at the last corner and didn't get the drive out of there, but overall not too bad," Brown said.

Tickford's Thomas Randle was third-fastest while last year's champion Brodie Kostecki came in fifth.

Saturday's pole-sitter Cam Waters was slowest in the shootout after locking up into turn four.

Jaxon Evans' No.12 Camaro will not feature in the race after the rookie driver suffered concussion symptoms from an ugly high-speed crash in qualifying.

The Brad Jones Racing driver was lucky to walk away from the incident at turn eight, falling to the same error that caught out Stanaway, Hill and Reynolds earlier in the weekend.

Stanaway also failed to shake off concussion symptoms following his crash and will be replaced in the No.26 Mustang by Super2 young gun Kai Allen.

The 19-year-old will replace Stanaway at Grove Racing in 2025 and lines up 19th on the grid.

The final race of the Supercars season begins at 3.15pm (ACDT).
