STAT OF THE DAY: After becoming the oldest ATP singles champion in almost half a century with title glory in Auckland, 38-year-old Gael Monfils extended his 2025 winning streak to seven matches with a straight-sets second-round victory over German Daniel Altmaier.

Second second Iga Swiatek is safely through in the women's event and will play revitalised former US Open champ Emma Raducanu next.
