Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Real Peel Deals holiday giveaway campaign starts, worth more than $32,000

The Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Real Peel Deals holiday giveaway campaign has officially started, with more than $32,000 worth of products and vouchers for consumers to spend in the Peel region. The initiative has been brought in to help businesses in the Peel region “get back on their feet” as well as combat the Mandurah train line shutdown during the upcoming school holidays. Local businesses have joined forces to create holiday packages to entice visitors to the region, including Waroona’s Visitor Centre, Drakesbrook Winery, DnD’s Lolly Jar and Lake Navarino Holiday Park. Waroona Visitor Centre manager Tracy Goldsworthy said the Real Peel Deals campaign was a great initiative for businesses in the Shire. “With COVID and all the other challenges facing the Peel region, it is very much appreciated by all of the members of the Peel CCI,” Ms Goldsworthy said. “A phenomenal amount of work has gone into it and they have done an amazing job. “(The Peel CCI) are doing a lot of work behind the scenes. The businesses have brought together local products and gift vouchers for consumers to spend in the Peel region, with a total prize pool soaring from a target of $5000 to more than $32,000. The giveaway campaign will consist of feature prize draws from representative businesses from the Boddington, Mandurah, Murray, Serpentine-Jarrahdale and Waroona local government areas. The draws are expected to support the many small business operators who have not recovered from lockdowns, staff issues and border closures. Real Peel Deals is also offering exclusive content that celebrates the region’s cultural heritage. In partnership with the Peel chamber, the WA Indigenous Tourism Operators Council has identified key Indigenous retailers and tour operators who will participate in an exclusive campaign to elevate their culturally significant products and services. Tourism Minister and Mandurah MLA David Templeman congratulated the Peel Chamber of Commerce on initiating the campaign and said the prizes would help entice more visitors. “We all know the Peel region has the best attractions and with this campaign we will be able to share our magnificent region with the rest of WA,” he said. Chamber president Donna Cocking said more than 120 businesses were working together on the campaign.
