The in-form Blazers retained their newly minted status as cream of the crop in round six of the Harvey Basketball Association season.

The undefeated senior men’s team continued their impressive run in a round where there was a fair share of nail-biting games for spectators.

Aided by an unofficial bye the week before due to the Cowboys forfeiting their match, the Blazers comfortably defeated the Mavericks 52-39.

Callum Heap once again helped his side to the second biggest win of the round, scoring a total of 15 points against the Mavericks, who have not won a match since round one.

The Bulls just managed to scrape over the line in their contest against the winless Jumars 45-42.

Darren Millsteed managed to drag his team to victory by scoring 17 points and cancelling out strong performances by Dylan Trickett (13 points) and Lewis Italiano (12 points).

Jake Chapman’s impressive scoring total of 20 points was not enough to get the former top of the ladder Cowboys across the line, with the win going to Kaizen Elite Basketball 41-46.

It was a sweet success for the winning team, who scored their first victory this season to sit at sixth on the ladder.

In the senior women’s competition, LBH had a more acceptable result against the stronger Djinda team in their round one rematch.

However, they were unable to score their second win of the season, going down 60-41.

Djinda players Sierraleone Simpson and Sophia Tomas helped the team to their win by scoring 20 and 16 points respectively.

LBH’s Melissa Hernaman put in a good result despite being defeated, scoring 14 points.

The undefeated Bulls continued their streak with a 43-34 win over the Mettlers.

Taneika Handley’s 17 points and Sarah Donovan’s 14 points assisted the Bulls to their win, while the Mettlers players were all kept below double digits.

The Blazers will have their first bye of the season on Tuesday night, with the Mettlers having their first bye since round two.
