The wheels on regional school buses are going round and round as registrations open for rural families in need of the service.

The Public Transport Authority School Bus Service is free to eligible children in the State’s regions.

Children starting school for the first time, changing schools or who have moved need to have their details registered. No re-registration is required for children who already use the bus service.

SBS spokesman David Hynes said students who did not register before November 26 might not be able to access the service in the first weeks of the 2022 school year.

“SBS receives thousands of applications each year from parents of children who need to catch an orange school bus to and from school,” he said.

Parents who leave it too late to register their child may find that we can’t service their stop until later in the term, when routes and timetables are reviewed.
