Harvey senior citizens get into the festive spirit
Christmas came early this year at the Harvey Senior Citizens Centre, with more than 70 residents sitting down to enjoy a meal, live music and the Christmas spirit.
Held annually, the Christmas lunch is an opportunity for Harvey seniors to enjoy the festive season, with singalongs, raffles and a traditional Christmas roast.
Senior citizens event co-ordinator Dianne Alberti said the COVID-19 pandemic stopped the lunch going ahead last year, and this year it brought family and friends together.
“Some of the girls have dressed up as elves and are going to throw lollies around, and we’ve got senior citizens booklets for singalongs,” she said.
“We have about 76 people, which is more than we’ve had before.”
The lunch also included raffles and door prizes and was held at the centre on Friday.
