Leschenault Catchment Council calling for community volunteers to join board
People living around the Leschenault Estuary and passionate about the area are being encouraged to join one of the South West’s biggest conservation groups.
The Leschenault Catchment Council is calling for community members to join its volunteer board guiding strategic direction of the organisation to restore landscapes and strengthen the community’s connection with the environment.
The LCC is looking for anyone living in the Leschenault Catchment — around Harvey, Bunbury, Capel, Collie and Dardanup — with skills in environmental management, organisational governance, profile raising, fundraising or community engagement to join its board.
A spokesperson for the LCC said the board would meet monthly and work closely with staff to deliver projects around the catchment to safeguard the environment.
They said anyone interested in joining should submit a nomination, along with a brief statement about their interest in LCC and how their skills would benefit the board to exec@leschenaultcc.org.au.
Applications close November 13 with new board members formally endorsed at the LCC’s annual general meeting on December 11.
