South West’s Jessica Repacholi returns to West Coast Fever reserves for Australian Netball Championships

A South West netballer’s star is continuing to rise after being named to represent Western Australia on the national stage once again. Jessica Repacholi was recently named to return to the West Coast Fever reserves squad that will be representing WA at the Australian Netball Championships to be held at the Morayfield Sports and Events Centre in Queensland. The young gun was selected to return to the West Coast Fever reserves squad after another impressive season with the East Freo Sharks in the WA Netball League. Repacholi featured in 14 games for the Sharks this year, with the team making it all the way through to the preliminary final where they were defeated 52-44 by eventual grand finalists Western Roar. Along with her ongoing stint with the Sharks and being named as a West Coast Fever Academy athlete earlier this year, Repacholi has also featured in Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault’s 2023 South West Netball Football League campaign. She has been showcasing her skills in the mid-court and in defence for the Lions throughout the season. Joining Repacholi in the young squad are former Souwest Jet Ruth Aryang, Jordan Cransberg, Caitlyn Brown, Sloan Burton, Emma Putt, Ella Taylor and Numi Tupaea, as well as debutants Jasmah Haywood, Georgie Cleaver, Cleo Kenny and Chelsea Bartlett. West Coast Fever reserves coach Guy Keane said the Australian Netball Championships was a great opportunity to showcase the talent and depth of netball in WA. “The 2023 West Coast Fever reserves team is an exciting group of talented WA athletes which demonstrates the ability of the club to grow our athletes through connected pathways and targeted resourcing, which has given them the opportunity to shine on the national stage and inspire them on their netball journey,” he said. “With the squad having an average age of just under 22, this demonstrates the impressive emerging talent in our pathway programs, and we are looking forward to providing them a platform to test themselves against the best in the country.” Set to take place from August 21 to 27, the Australian Netball Championships will see 11 teams, representing each State and Territory, compete and showcase their skills on the national stage. This year brings forth the second edition of the open age championships, with the addition of a team representing the Northern Territory for the first time.
