Four teens with professional soccer aspirations selected for Chelsea Football Club training camp in England

Four teenagers from the Lower South West have been selected to participate in a prestigious soccer program in England next year. The four aspiring professional soccer players — including Nathaniel and Oliver Abbiss, 13, Zavier Lowe, 13, and David Muap, 12 — will join 11 other talented youngsters from Western Australia on the Chelsea Football Club Development Camp in September, 2025. The development tour — supported by the International Soccer Academy in Perth — includes training sessions delivered by Chelsea Football Club Foundation coaches and fixtures against the foundation’s development team. It also includes a local soccer academy, development workshops, education presentations and a tour of several key soccer-centric tourist locations in London. David said he was looking forward to the experience. “I’m looking forward to seeing Chelsea Football Club and experiencing the intensity of the training,” he said. “I love when the training is intense, I just love playing.” Zavier — who played his first winter season of soccer this year after growing up playing hockey — said he was looking forward to the training sessions the most. Nathaniel said he was grateful for the opportunity to join the camp, while Oliver said he was keen to train with the development coaches. The families are accepting donations to help send their eager teenagers to England to live out their soccer dreams.
