Hackers claim they’ve stolen personal details and payment information of 560 million Ticketmaster users

The personal data and payment information of 560 million Ticketmaster users has reportedly been hacked and is currently available for purchase online.

Hacking group ShinyHunters claimed to have breached Ticketmaster and Live Nation security systems, acquiring data from 560 million users.

If the claims prove legitimate, it may end up being one of the largest hacks ever.

The compromised data, amounting to 1.3 terabytes, includes both personal data and sensitive payment details.

It is not yet clear if Australians have been affected by this breach.

The stolen data reportedly includes full names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, ticket sales and event details, order information, and partial payment card data.

Alarmingly, the compromised data also purportedly contains the last four digits of card numbers and expiration dates.

The massive tranche of stolen information is now up for sale on Breach Forums for $US500,000.

ShinyHunters are known as a big player in cybercrime, and they own and operate the platform Breach Forums, where the stolen data is for sale.

Authorities have tried to shut down the forum in the past, however, the group has managed to get their platform up repeatedly.

Hackread.com reported that ShinyHunters had attempted to contact Ticketmaster regarding the breach but received no response.

The Nightly has contacted both Ticketmaster Australia and Live Nation Australia and is yet to receive a response.
